Aroh Made, Kentucky Proud

By Kentucky For Kentucky |

Last fall, as we were enjoying the sights and sounds of season, something (or rather someone) quite extraordinary appeared on our radar. It was a fine, young gent by the name of Benjamin Aroh who was making a splash in the Kickstarter community. In addition to his undeniable charm and beaming Kentucky pride, Ben came bearing some handsome handcrafted creations. Among the myriad of magnetized key holders (which came in all shapes & sizes), we spotted a little something that was a must for our old KY home. Ben generously sent out a sample of his KY-shaped key holder, and we were in heaven. It came to us as no surprise that members of the Commonwealth both far and wide were clambering for what Ben had to offer; and in no time, his project was fully funded by good people who wanted to see cool stuff made in the Bluegrass.

A year later, we've caught up with Ben to check on the progression of his work, and are beyond tickled at what his busy hands have been dipping into. It's not just about keys anymore- Ben has been laying the foundation for his own lifestyle oriented home goods line called "Aroh Made". He launched the website earlier this season, and the response to his handmade treasures (which include: lamps, shelves, cutting boards & much more) has been above and beyond his wildest desires.

As a native of Louisville, KY, woodworking and carpentry have been in Aroh's blood from the get-go. Passed down through family ties from generations of skilled craftsmen before him, Ben embraces his passion for working with his hands whole-heartedly.

To celebrate his successes, and to give a hearty nod to the past, we're launching one of Ben's original and most beloved creations. This Wednesday, November 5th don't miss your chance to snatch your very own KY Key Magnet and support a new twist on classic Kentucky heritage.
