"Big Buck Of This Lick" Print

By Kentucky For Kentucky |

Abraham Lincoln is an undeniable Kick Ass Kentucky original.

Literally, though. He kicked ass. What most don't know about one of our nation's greatest presidents is his side career as a wrestler. Not like Macho Man Randy Savage type wrestling (although he was known to talk a little smack) but shirts off, bare hands, real "come and get it" ass whoopin'.

Not only did he enjoy wrestling, he was really freakin' good at it, too. His long arms and legs made him an accomplished wrestler, so much so that he holds a title in the National Wrestling Hall of Fame. For real. Out of approximately 300 matches, he was defeated only once. In fact, after he totally kicked one guy's ass, it was said that he turned to the crowd of spectators and challenged all of the other onlookers:

"I'm the big buck of this lick. If any of you want to try it, come on and whet your horns."

Essentially the Civil War Era equivalent of "Come at me, bro."  Obviously no one stepped up to accept the challenge, because, why would they? He was Honest Abe: inarguably one of our nation's greatest leaders, 6 feet 4 inches of total chin-bearded, stove pipe hat, emancipator whoop-ass.

To celebrate President Lincoln's Birthday (and status as a true honorary Kick Ass Kentucky Original), we're launching a LIMITED run of just 100 of these kick-ass prints, designed by Rachael Sinclair and printed on 12″ x 14″ French Paper by The Giant Robot.  Available THIS FRIDAY, February 12th, at 10:00AM on our website.
