Kentucky is my Land

By Kentucky For Kentucky |

Here at Kentucky for Kentucky, we aim to celebrate our state's most influential minds, thinkers, movers and shakers. That's why we picked another quote from writer Jesse Stuart for our next kick-ass print project. Stuart (1906-1994) was a prolific and beloved writer of prose and poetry, biography and essay. He hailed from the rolling hills and valleys of Greenup County and went on to become the poet laureate of Kentucky in 1954.

Because we love artistic Kentucky collaborations, we asked the Louisvillian type wizard Bryan Patrick Todd to work his designer magic with Stuart's pen. Due to the popularity of Todd's previous print, we knew he could work wonders with four simple words: "Kentucky is my Land". Whether you live in Kentucky or are a Kentuckian abroad, you know in your heart that it's your land and it always will be.

"Kentucky is My Land" prints will be available this Friday in two styles. You can get yours silkscreened on a crisp black French Paper Co paper (19″ x 12.5″) for $25 (shown above) or silkscreened on a vintage Kentucky highway map (shown below) for only $65. Both signed and numbered by Bryan Patrick Todd. Both are hand-printed with love by Tim Jones. Both available this Friday at 10:00AM. We'll have 150 of the prints and only 35 of the vintage Kentucky highway map prints (dates range from 1930's-1980's with some wear).

Read more about Todd's creative process here, or visit his website to see his mark on the city of Louisville.
