Mammoth Cave Reimagined As A Subway System

By Kentucky For Kentucky |

Kentucky is home to the longest cave system in the world – Mammoth Cave (aka Mammoth-Flint Ridge Cave System). Like the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Mammoth Cave is epic and awesome. It's considered one of the
seven natural wonders of North America. To give you an idea of it's size, back in the 1960's Colonel Sanders would use Mammoth Cave to smuggle fried chicken from Kentucky all the way into Japan.

"With 400 miles (640 km) of surveyed passageways Mammoth Cave is by far the world's longest known cave system, being over twice as long as the second-longest cave system, Mexico's Sac Actun underwater cave." – Wikipedia

One day our friend and co-worker Andrew Allingham got to thinking about caves. Andrew's thinking about caves led him to think about other things that lie under the surface of the earth. He thought about roots, earth worms and dirt. Those thoughts led him to think about things like subway systems. He thought to himself: Like a cave, a subway can be found beneath the earth's surface.

Like the Internet, young Andrew likes to reimagine things. In the spirit of reimagining, he got this great idea to reimagine the Mammoth-Flint Ridge Cave System as a motha f#@king subway system. Hell yes he did. Andrew being a go-getter quickly turned this idea into a reality. Below you'll find the official subway map of the Mammoth-Flint Ridge Cave System created by our very own Andrew Allingham. If Floyd Collins were alive today, he'd be so proud of
Andrew. I know we sure are.
